Daniel Burke served as Director of the Multifamily Midwest Region of the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 2013 to 2023. He led a team of 200 staff overseeing 6300 HUD assisted multifamily properties in six states. A graduate of Loyola University Law School '84, he worked for four years with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago before becoming a developer of HUD assisted housing for thirty years. He developed a portfolio of 3000 affordable apartments and assisted resident and non profit organizations in the acquisition and preservation of 5000 affordable apartments. Prior to joining HUD he worked as Statewide Housing Coordinator for Long Term Care Reform for Governor Patrick Quinn.
