David J. Siegel is a partner in the Chicago real estate group of Sidley Austin LLP who joined the firm in 1994. His practice includes real estate acquisition, disposition and leasing transactions of all categories, with a particular focus on office leasing and the representation of clients in the consumer products, industrial and development sectors. Mr. Siegel has represented clients of all types in a variety of complex matter, including build-to-suit office building and warehouse/distribution center leasing, numerous development projects including shopping centers, utility substations and petroleum terminals, property joint-use and interconnection arrangements, sales of distressed sites, sale-leasebacks of manufacturing, warehouse and office properties, and multi-site dispositions of real estate. He has authored articles for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and Practising Law Institute regarding matters such as subdivisions and other governmental controls of real estate and office leasing, and has spoken and lectured on a variety of real estate law topics (including purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing and subdivisions) for organizations such as Practising Law Institute, Law Seminars International and Lorman Education Services.
