Raya Stoicheva

Senior Staff Attorney


Raya Stoicheva is the Senior Staff Attorney in the Holistic Immigration Hub (HIH) at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. There she teaches interdisciplinary students about immigration law and policy through volunteerism in support of community-based immigrant-serving organizations. Raya has been practicing immigration law and building an expansive professional network across Chicagoland for the past 13 years. Before joining Loyola, Raya worked at the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights promoting the best interests and human rights of unaccompanied immigrant children in federal immigration detention, most recently serving as Senior Managing Attorney in the Young Center’s Chicago office. Additionally, Raya has served as a clinical instructor of law at the DePaul College of Law and the University of Chicago Law School, where she taught and supervised students in direct representation of immigrant clients and best interests advocacy for unaccompanied immigrant children. While at DePaul, she also supported community-based partner organizations through the provision of technical assistance on immigration matters. Raya graduate cum laude from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
