All are invited to a screening of the French film Welcome (2009), the third film in our international film series. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7pm in the Damen Cinema. In French with English subtitles. Popcorn! An informal post-viewing conversation will follow.

This forceful drama about clandestine migration in the northern French port City of Galais follows the relationship, struggles, and dreams of a French swimming instructor and a Kurdish boy who arrives in France and dreams of crossing the English Channel. This film takes place in the "Jungle of Calais" in which approximately 6,000 refugees, and growing, live in impossible conditions, making it as relevant today as when it was first released in 2009.
