Admission Requirements
- A Completed Application Form. You may submit your application form online.
- Official Transcripts
Applicants must submit official transcripts for all undergraduate and any graduate work. To be eligible for admission, your transcript must show an earned bachelor's degree or a bachelor’s degree in progress. Certified copies of transcripts are acceptable; faxed copies of transcripts are not considered official. If you attended Loyola University Chicago previously, you do not need to request transcripts; we have them on record. Transcripts must show a GPA of at least a 3.0*.
In exceptional cases, applicants whose undergraduate GPA is below 3.0 may be admitted. Each program area gives meaningful consideration to the applicant's graduate GPA, recommendations, professional experience and reasons for pursuing a graduate program, as well as to the diversity of the student body. - A Personal Statement
Your statement should be 1-3 pages, and you should describe:
- Academic and research interests, as well as your professional goals;
- Life experiences that have influenced your view of social justice
- Any research and professional experiences
- Teaching License or Certificate (IL or Other)
Proof of teaching or work experience must be submitted. A letter from the Ministry of Education or a local agency may be used for confirmation of work experience. At least two years of teaching or work experience relevant to your professional goals in a school or community organization or agency must be documented and submitted. - Resume
A current resume that highlights at least two years of work experience relevant to your professional goals. - Interview
Our admissions committee may request an interview. Interviews are done by invitation only. In preparation for the interview, candidates will be asked to give a PowerPoint portfolio presentation, provide real-time analysis, and an on-site writing sample. If invited to campus, an email will be sent with specific instructions prior to the interview. - International Students

Scholarship Opportunities
Members of a Catholic educator cohort are eligible for a 1/3 tuition scholarship. Additional scholarship opportunities are available. To access these opportunities, you must have completed and submitted your application for admissions. Once that is complete, please submit a letter of application addressing the following points:
- Identify any financial hardships that impact on your ability to attend the program to which you have applied.
- Describe the other sources of financial support (use of title funds, support from foundations etc.) that you have sought to address the financial need.

Requests for financial support are reviewed by the Greeley Scholarship Review team. Letters of application will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all available funding is allocated. Candidates are encouraged to apply early in order maximize the opportunity to receive funding.
This scholarship is renewable for the duration of the program to which you have applied, dependent on continued availability of funds. To be eligible for renewal of the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Maintain status as a student in good standing with Loyola University Chicago
- Continue to make progress towards completion of the program to which you applied
As a condition of acceptance of the scholarship, you agree to maintain employment in a Catholic school over the next five years.
