This Continuing Legal Education Program provides attorneys with an understanding of the legal issues involved with school-based bullying. Attendees are provided with information regarding how to advocate on behalf of families and students who are targets of bullying and discuss the various avenues to address this serious problem that impacts a significant percentage of students, many of whom go unrepresented. Technical assistance will be available to attorneys who represent students involved in bullying following the presentation.
This program was approved by the MCLE Board for 2.75 hours of general Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for attorneys.
Training: Representing Students in Bullying Cases: A Primer for Attorneys
Recent Bullying Case Law Summary
This 20-minute video covers additional content that we were not able to cover in the training due to time constraints. Because the training included time devoted to breakout sessions that are not accessible to those viewing the recording, we are also providing this additional content to enable those viewing the recording to obtain full CLE credit for their participation. Those participating in the training by recording who wish to receive the full 2.75 hours of CLE credit should watch at least the first 9 minutes of this video.
CLE Credit:
Attorneys may receive 2.75 hours of CLE credit for their participation for viewing the recording of the training and at least 10 minutes of the case law overview. After viewing the videos, attorneys seeking credit must complete this form to receive credit. The final day to submit this form for CLE credit purposes is July 31, 2024. Certificates for those completing the training by the end of July will be issued in August.
Materials:
The Advocacy Resources Table of Contents can be found here, with links to all resources and the powerpoint of the presentation (with embedded hyperlinks).
You can reach out to the presenters of the training at EdLaw-Institute@luc.edu with any questions.
