About
Kirk Walter serves as the assistant dean of the Weekend JD Program for the School of Law. In this role he works with law school faculty and administrators to provide students with an individualized legal education that will prepare them to serve as ethical advocates for their clients and for the rule of law. Kirk advises Weekend JD students on curricular and co-curricular matters and coordinates academic support initiatives to ensure that each student receives the resources that they need to properly assess and meet their educational goals. Additionally, he oversees the programmatic aspects of the Weekend JD Program, including strategic planning, development, and financial operations.
Kirk began his career as elections counsel for the Ohio Secretary of State. Following that, he served as a staff attorney for the Alabama Disability Advocacy Program. Immediately prior to coming to Loyola, he worked as the assistant director of student involvement at The University of Alabama. In his spare time, Kirk enjoys spending time with his husband, David, and their Jack Russell Terrier, Bella.
