Enas
I am a junior majoring in psychology.  I am joining the LLRC as an outstanding Arabic language coach helping students work on oral language skills, in both Formal and Levantine Arabic,  and authentic cultural interactions. I was born and raised in Damascus, the capital of Syria. Due to the war, I moved to Illinois where my mother originally lived. I still visit Syria almost every year during winter break. I love visiting Syria to refresh my mind and rejuvenate into a new mindset to start with in next semesters. In my free time, I like to read books, draw, and write. I am very passionate about learning new languages. I am a native Arabic speaker, fluent in English and working on learning Spanish. I genuinely believe that languages are the key to learn about new cultures. Please stop by to have a conversation with me and help me learn about your culture too.

French

Stephanie
My name is Stephanie and I am a native French speaker. I am a junior at Loyola, majoring in French. I was born in Saudi Arabia and raised there until I turned 6 when my family decided to move to Gabon. I lived there until I turned 10. I finally went to France to complete middle school and high school in Chambéry, Savoie. I have a two-year degree from the University of Toulon where I studied law, and a diplôme universitaire from the Journalism School of Marseille. I moved to New York City in 2006 to follow my passion in journalism as a freelance writer. I especially enjoy talking about food and travel.

Alexandre
Bonjour! My name is Alexandre and I am native French speaker. I grew up in Singapore where I attended the Lycée Français de Singapour. I moved to Toulouse, France, at the age of 16 where I completed my National French Baccalaureate in Economics and Social Sciences. I then attended the Toulouse School of Economics for a year before returning to Singapore for National Service. Upon completing my National Service, I enrolled at LUC to study Criminal Justice & Criminology and Political Science. I would be delighted to meet with you to speak French: simple conversation, literature, culture, or my favorite, the French cuisine. Strengthen your French while having fun! À bientôt!

German

Clara
Hallo! My name is Clara and I grew up in Erlangen, a small college town near Nuremberg in Bavaria. I lived there for 16 years before moving to Evanston, IL, to attend high school. I am currently a Sophomore at Loyola and I study Environmental Science. I have a very special connection to Germany and I love meeting people who study German and are interested in the country. I believe an important part of learning a language is practicing skills acquired in class and I cannot wait to get to know you in person through speaking German. I enjoy being in nature, making music, and meeting friends. I am both a language coach and a German tutor (through CTAE). Coaching focuses on conversation, anything you would like to talk about. This could include current activities, future plans, past adventures, but we can also make up stories and get very creative. (Tutoring tends to deal more with language patterns, grammar and specific concepts from class.) Please schedule a conversation with me on this link

I am always down to discuss Russian literature and culture, and, if you are interested, I can tell you about Baltic cultures as well, since a large part of my childhood was spent in Estonia.
