Natalie Burdsall
Hi everyone! My name is Natalie Burdsall (she/her) and I’m a senior double-majoring in Global & International Studies and Communication studies, with a double minor in Arabic Language and Islamic World Studies. As the Child of a Deaf Adult (CODA), I grew up in both the hearing and Deaf worlds. I learned American Sign Language as my first language, and continue to use it every day to communicate with my mom and Deaf friends. Experiencing Deaf culture and learning ASL made me the person I am today, and I am incredibly excited to share my experiences, skills, and knowledge with you. Learning a new language can be intimidating––especially one as different as ASL––but it’s absolutely worth it!  Sign up for an appointment with me at LLRC Appointment Center

 Asmaa Raeedy
مرحبا my name is Asmaa Raeedy, and I go by Sam. I am from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia born and raised. In addition, lived in China for 11 years + 2 debatable years. As a result, I am trilingual. I am a senior majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science (Pre-med). Moreover, I LOVE to travel, and one thing I learned while traveling is that if you want to learn a language, you need to speak it. Speaking with natives is the best way of learning, and that's why I am here to help you improve your Arabic. I learned Chinese by speaking, and you will be able to do the same with Arabic (inshallah). I love sports such as volleyball, basketball, and horse riding maybe we have something in common. I hope to be of a great asset for you this semester.

French

Victor
Bonjour! I'm Victor, a senior studying Software Engineering at Loyola. I'm from Madagascar where I spoke French as a second language. I decided to come to the US to Loyola for my studies, but also to meet new people and share and learn from them. I am passionate about basketball, electric skateboard, robotics, and anime. I also love going on adventures, and a way for me to do that is to hear other students' stories and interacting with them; this is to say that I would love to help you practice your French in a fun and interactive way!

Mary
Привет всем! My name is Mary or Masha (I don't have a preference) and I'm from the Chicagoland burbs. I am Ukrainian and my family is from Kyiv and Donbass; I grew up speaking Russian in a Soviet household. I thought everyone spoke a different language at home until I was about nine years old. I'm really excited to practice with you. I'm a Political Science major with Spanish and Mandarin minors (so trust me, I know how hard language study can be) graduating Fall 2023. I love to talk Russian and Ukrainian politics, but I promise we can stick to the fun stuff too. I have accumulated a lot of very good memes in Russian over the years. Don't hesitate to schedule a meeting with me! Improving your Russian ability is my number one priority. Надеюсь что скоро встретимся!
