Guidance for Non-LUC Law Enforcement on Campus

It is important that you are aware of your rights and Loyola University Chicago’s protocol should you encounter non-LUC law enforcement on campus.

Campus Protocol

If a student, faculty, staff, or visitor encounters a non-LUC law enforcement officer on campus, immediately contact Campus Safety (773-508-SAFE/7233) to inform them of the presence of non-LUC law enforcement on campus.

If you feel personally unsafe, stay calm, move to a private space, and then call Campus Safety (773-508-SAFE/7233).

Please do not:

  • Attempt to physically impede or touch law enforcement
  • Accept, assess, or sign any documentation from non-LUC law enforcement
  • Grant permission for non-LUC law enforcement officers to enter private spaces

Campus Safety will respond to the scene and follow university policy to determine a plan of action.
