Halas Recreation Center

The George Halas Jr. Recreation Center, built in 1985, is a 71,000-square-foot indoor state-of-the-art recreation facility, which features the following amenities:

• Multi-Purpose Gymnasium featuring 2 high school basketball courts and 1 collegiate basketball court
• 35-foot, 3-lane rock wall with a 13-foot bouldering wall
• 25-yard, 8-lane pool
• 1 Spinning Room
• Core Stretching Room
• 3,800 square feet of Cardio Space
• 4,000+ square feet of Group Exercise Space
• 6,500 square feet of Strength and Fitness space
• Men's and Women's Locker Rooms each featuring sauna

Halas Recreation Center 2nd Floor
Available to rent for indoor use, the Halas 2nd floor consists of 21,000 sq. ft./ 999 capacity, 2 basketball courts (1 NCAA, 2 high school). There are a total of 10 basketball hoops and 6 badminton courts. These spaces can be booked for external events.

Bookable venues include:

• HS Basketball Court 1: 4,200 square feet
• HS Basketball Court 2: 4,200 square feet
• Collegiate Basketball Court: 4,700 square feet

Halas Recreation Center Pool
An 8-lane, 25-yard pool that reaches a depth of 7 feet will allow for both lap swimming and space for free swimming.  Kickboards, pull-buoys, and aqua jogging belts are provided for members’ use.  The Halas Pool can be accessed through the locker rooms or the hallway by the family changing room.

Halas Recreation Center Dance Rooms

Located in the heart of the Halas Recreation Center, our large dance room features floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

Halas Recreation Center Rock Wall
Located on the lower level of the Halas Recreation Center, the wall comprises 3 lanes, a 35-foot wall, and a 13-foot bouldering wall. The Rock Wall is possible to be reserved for special events with all equipment provided.
