ANNOUNCEMENT

Message from Campus Transportation

Loyola Community,

The fall transportation schedule has been announced and includes service updates for the start of the academic year.

During Move-In 2019, the Main Parking Structure will be restricted to students moving onto campus from Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22 and again on Saturday, August 24. Alternatively, faculty and staff can park in Fordham Garage, West Loyola Lot at 1236 W. Loyola Ave., Contractor’s Lot at 1227 W. Loyola Ave., and St. Louis Lot at 1245 W. Loyola Ave. (entry to the St. Louis lot is in the alley). Your Loyola Campus Card will be required to enter Fordham Garage on these days.

Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to commute to campus via public transportation during this time or carpool—particularly on Wednesday, August 21, because of increased traffic on campus that day. Due to heavy traffic and use of alternative parking, we advise you to give yourself extra time to get to campus.

Intercampus shuttle service begins Monday, August 26, at 7 a.m. and will run until midnight at the Lake Shore Campus and 12:10 a.m. at the Water Tower Campus, Mondays through Fridays. A shuttle also runs to Union and Ogilvie stations Mondays through Fridays at 9:05 p.m. from the Water Tower Campus. To learn more about services and times, click here.

Please note on Friday August 30, the last shuttle will depart each campus at 7 p.m., and on Labor Day (Monday, September 2) shuttle service will not operate. Regular operations will resume Tuesday, September 3.

8-RIDE service begins Sunday, August 25, at 7 p.m. Rides can be booked with 8-RIDE Mobile or by calling 773.508.7433. The service will run seven days a week. To learn more about service boundaries, hours of operation and how to use 8-RIDE Mobile, visit LUC.edu/8Ride.

U-Pass fall semester activation dates can be found at LUC.edu/upass. Students who newly qualify should visit the site for distribution information and for questions regarding eligibility, troubleshooting, and card replacement requests.

We wish everyone a safe and successful fall semester.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Carey
Manager of Campus Transportation
