Workshops and Trainings

CDI offers a series of workshops and trainings throughout the academic year. Click on the links below to learn more. 

No training was offered from December 10th, 2021 - January 16th, 2022. We will continue to accept training requests, but they were not reviewed until January 13th.

Safe Space Training Dates

Safe Space Trainings are introductory sessions that work to assist individuals who wish to support the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA) community of Loyola University Chicago.

  • Thursday, March 3rd, 5:30pm-7:30pm (Zoom)
  • Wednesday, March 30th, 1-3pm (Damen MPR South)

Share the Dream Ally Training

Share the Dream Ally Trainings are facilitated to deepen awareness and commitment to supporting undocumented students on-campus and throughout the Chicago area.

  • March (UndocuWeek): Thursday, March 17th at 4pm (Location: Cuneo 218)  
  • April: Tuesday, April 5th at 5pm (virtual)  

Social Justice Workshops

These specially curated offerings are meant to assist Loyola University Chicago students in advancing their understanding and learning of systems of power, privilege and oppression to develop the capacity and skills to build a more just and humane world. Workshops are by request only.

  • Challenging White Supremacy Culture and Norms
  • Building a Culture of Consent in Your Organization
  • Developing Capacity and Skills to Move Towards Generative Conflict
  • Custom presentations are available upon request 4 weeks in advance and in consultation and collaborative with CDI staff.

OPTIONS TO ENGAGE WITH CDI

Informal Sessions

The CDI team is prepared to engage in various ways. Informal engagements will be offered in 30-minute intervals but not exceed 120 minutes. If requesting this type of engagement, please be sure to include the request of pamphlets and materials if needed (subject to availability). Informal engagements may include but are not limited to tabling, orientation, admissions fairs.

Information Sessions

CDI 101 is an overview of programs, initiatives, and services offered by CDI. Groups may request a complete overview or select specific programs, initiatives, and services of their choosing. Learn more about out programs, initiaves, and services.

Mini-Workshops

Mini-workshops cover CDI’s programs, initiatives, and services (see CDI 101) while exploring intersectional identities through a lens of power, privilege, and oppression.
