Orientation is the first step towards starting your college experience at Loyola. We provide distinct programs for First-year students and Transfer students:

At Orientation, students are supported by our dedicated team of Orientation Leaders who are here to help them discover what it means to be a Rambler. Orientation is an opportunity for students to not only socialize with their fellow classmates but also hear more about the academic and co-curricular offerings they'll encounter during and beyond their first year on campus. Summer 2025 Orientation Dates
Summer 2025 Orientation dates for new students starting in Fall 2025 are below. Registration for these dates will open on Monday, May 5, 2025. Students are required to register to attend one of the sessions below.
Graduate and professional students can refer to their school's direct website for more information on program-specific orientations.

Technology Roadmap
All students must review the Technology Roadmap prior to their orientation session so they can gain access to their Loyola email, LOCUS account (where students enroll in courses, view and process financial aid information, etc.), and more. Critical orientation and class registration information will be sent to your Loyola email, so please be sure to complete this process as early as possible.

Register for an Orientation Session
All incoming students must register for an Orientation session. Registration for Orientation opens on Monday, May 5th. Please look above this checklist for a list of our dates. You can register in your admitted student portal here.
Important Dates for Advising & Class Registration
- Students can sign up for an Academic Advising appointment through our appointment system, Navigate.
- Send any final college transcripts that you may have from college or dual enrollment courses you took in high school (will not apply to all students).
- Send AP/IB/CLEP scores or make sure you add Loyola to any pending scores.

Placement Testing
Placement Testing requirements will be provided within your admitted student portal. All placement tests must be completed no later than Friday, June 13, 2025.

Campus ID Card
All students are required to have an official Loyola ID card in order to access to campus buildings and cafeterias.
Students have the option to submit a photo of themselves ahead of time. Submitting your photo now means that Campus Card can print your ID and have it ready for pickup at the end of your orientation. So, please take the time now to submit your ID photo online today!
Submitting a photo is not a requirement, however if you do not submit a photo, you will need to take your photo at your orientation check-in. If you are unable to access your Online Card Office account, we recommend this option. You will still get your ID the following day at the end of the orientation. You can submit your ID photo ahead of time at this link here.
Photo ID Requirements:
- Image must be in .jpg format
- Image must be 1 x 1.38 aspect ratio (approximately 127 pixels wide by 176 pixels tall)
- Image must not exceed 1 MB
- Image must be of good quality
- Image must be in full color
- Image must not have borders
- Image must clearly identify the specific cardholder, and be front-facing
- Image must contain the cardholder ONLY (no other people or objects)
- Image should display full head: centered, from just below shoulders to just above head
- Cardholder should be looking straight ahead (not down, not angled/tilted head)
- No side profiles
- Image should have bright, even lighting
- Eyes open and visible (prescription glasses only, no tinted lenses)
- Religious head coverings only
- No obstruction to view of cardholder’s face
- Image background should be solid white or blue (example: towel or bedsheet)
- Image submitted must not be copyrighted

Residence Life
Submit your Housing Application by May 1st to be included in the first round of assignments. To learn more about the Department of Residence Life, visit their main website.
Immunization Submissions
