MATH 301: History of Mathematics

Prerequisites: MATH 132 or 162.  MATH 201 is recommended.
Description:  This course explores selected topics in the history of mathematics ranging from Babylonian and Egyptian mathematics to Pythagoras and Euclid to the Hindu-Arabic numeration system to Newton and Leibniz to geometries other that Euclid's to the mathematical art of Escher.
