Careers & Internships
A major in mathematics offers a strong background for all fields that demand logical reasoning and precision of thought. A surprising number of famous people began as mathematics majors, ranging from Michael Jordan and Art Garfunkel to Lewis Carroll and Leon Trotsky. Many of our graduates have been admitted to medical school, law school and graduate programs in economics, management, financial mathematics, computer science and engineering. Others have become teachers in middle school, high school or junior college. Some have entered Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs in mathematics and related fields.
A major in statistics is excellent preparation for students who prefer to apply mathematics to other disciplines.
