Message from the Office of the President
MAY 28 · 8:55 A.M.

Dear Students,

We are pleased to inform you that the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Student Share Grant online application is now live. Students can access the online application here.

To log onto the online application, you will need your student UVID and password. Once logged in, you will be asked to provide receipts or documentation supporting your expenses. If you do not have supporting documentation, you will need to provide a statement regarding the expense.

As a reminder, you must have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for the HEERF Student Share Grant Funds. If you did not file a FAFSA for the 2019-2020 Aid Year, you can do so at studentaid.gov. Once the Financial Aid Office certifies you have a valid FAFSA, you can submit your HEERF Grant application.

Applications submitted through Wednesday, June 10 will be included in the Priority Application Period. We anticipate that payments will be made starting later in June.

For more information, please visit LUC.edu/heerf. If you have questions, please contact the HEERF Student Share Grants Team at HEERFGrants@LUC.edu.

Sincerely,
Thomas M. Kelly
Sr Vice President, Administrative Services

University Preparedness Planning

Loyola Univerisity Chicago's emergency response, planning, and decision making which began back in February, has evolved as the pandemic unfolded and is on-going. Our top priority remains Health & Safety, followed by academic continuity (teaching, research and learning) and student recruitment & retention. The emergency response organizational chart depicts our current organization structure. This will continue to evolve—expanding and contracting as needed by our response. There are now nearly 250 faculty, staff and students working daily on our emergency response and planning for a return to the “next normal” of University Operations. Learn more

University Policy

In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases throughout the US and the stay-at-home order in effect in IL and many other cities/states, we will not notify the entire Loyola community of every additional confirmed case moving forward. Students, Faculty, and Staff who test positive will automatically have their results conveyed to the Chicago Department of Public Health by their medical providers. In an effort to monitor the health and wellbeing of our Loyola community, positive test results from students, faculty and staff may be confidentially communicated to Joan Holden, Health Officer, but this is not required. As a reminder, contact tracing is not currently being conducted for individuals living in non-congregate settings. Please continue to check this website and our FAQs for updates and resources.
