Historical COVID-19 Testing Dashboard
Starting in 2021, Loyola University Chicago began operating a comprehensive COVID-19 surveillance testing program across our three Chicagoland campuses. Behind the scenes, University leaders designed this program for months, with the full understanding that aggressive testing of asymptomatic populations is the clearest way to limit the spread of COVID-19 on our campuses. We've partnered with SHIELD Illinois and administer the saliva-based test method that was developed by the University of Illinois. Samples are collected at surveillance testing sites set up on all three Chicagoland campuses.
All students, faculty, and staff can participate in SHIELD surveillance testing. Students at the Lake Shore Campus and Water Tower Campus can also receive diagnostic PCR testing at the Wellness Center. Students at the Health Sciences Campus can either participate in SHIELD testing or test at the occupational/student health clinic located at the Outpatient Center. Faculty and staff should visit their preferred diagnostic testing site in the community for a diagnostic test.
For more information on testing, please visit our On-Campus COVID-19 Testing page on the Health, Safety and Well-Being website. In alignment with the CDC’s monitoring of the COVID-19 pandemic the University has halted the tracking of positivity rates as of the end of the Spring 2022 semester. For the most up-to-date data on COVID-19 cases within the City of Chicago, the state of Illinois, and across the United States and world, please visit the COVID-19 Community Levels page.
Our COVID-19 Testing Dashboard reflects all testing data and positive COVID-19 cases that result from Loyola-provided testing. This dashboard does not reflect any testing or positive case results from tests provided by any non-Loyola, private, or community-based testing service. The dashboard also excludes any designated positive cases reported in person, via email or phone.
NOTE: We track three types of COVID-19 test results through Loyola-provided testing: surveillance (saliva), diagnostic rapid (nasal), and diagnostic PCR (nasal). Diagnostic tests may take 1-3 days to show results. Thus, all data on the COVID-19 Dashboard are subject to change retroactively depending on when we receive test results. Please check back frequently for the most up-to-date number of positive COVID-19 cases and COVID-19 tests administered within our community.
