Labster

Labster is a virtual science lab boasting a rapidly growing catalog of over three hundred laboratory simulations for various scientific disciplines. Labster gives students access to a realistic lab experience that empowers them to perform experiments and practice their skills in a simulated, risk-free learning environment. Labster simulations may be used as substitutes for in-person training experiences or may be used as supplemental instruction before or after in-person labs.
Labster integrates with Sakai through the Lessons and Gradebook tools, as well as with the Labster US external tool. Faculty use Lessons to provide students links to Labster simulations, and upon completion of a simulation, student scores are pushed back to the Sakai Gradebook automatically. The Labster US tool provides an optional dashboard where both faculty and students may view details about simulation attempts.

Empower Your Students with Virtual Labs: A Labster Quick Start (30 minutes)
STEM courses can shape a student’s entire academic path—either holding them back or launching them forward. That’s why engagement is so important. Labster’s virtual labs provide a safe, supportive space for students to practice, build confidence, and develop real scientific skills. The result is higher pass rates and more students prepared to succeed.
Loyola already has Labster integrated into Sakai, making it easy for faculty to add simulations as pre-labs or homework and automatically sync grades to the LMS. Please join Aimee Burke, Sr. Customer Success Manager at Labster, on 2/3 to hear insights from other higher-ed institutions, learn about Labster’s proven impact on learning, and see how simple it is to access Labster at Loyola.
