    This past weekend the Math & Stat Department had many of our students participating in the Undergraduate Research Symposium. After a year of hard work to prepare, the students all did a wonderful job presenting their research. Take a look at pictures and presentations from the event here!

    Dr. Peters wins Sujack Award

    Congratulations to Dr. Peters for winning the 2016 Sujack Family Award for Faculty Research Excellence. The Sujack Awards recognize superb faculty's individual research and scholarship outside of the classroom. Join us in congratulating Dr. Peters in receiving this honor!

    Congratulations to Katina Tole, a secondary education and mathematics major, for receiving this year's President's Medallion! Katina has been a mathematics major, a member of the Loyola dance team, a tutor for at-risk school children, an active volunteer on campus, and more.   • Math Students present Research: Gene-Network Analysis Tool

    Congratulations to Larry Kalesinskas (Biostatistics Minor) and Evan Cudone (Math Major) for presenting their research, "GxA: Developing a Gene Expression Network Visualization and Analysis Tool" at the annual NSF Maize Inflorescence Project Meeting as well as Stritch's St. Albert's Day!
  • Math Contest Winners

    Congratulations to the winners of this year's Chinese New Year Math Contest, where winners demonstrated their abilities to explore the mathematics of the IChing hexagrams and the Yin Yang symbol. Congratulations to all of the winners!
  • Rataj Lecture: Kenneth Ribet

    Celebrated mathematician, number theorist extraordinaire, and AMS President Ken Ribet visited us on Thursday 3/16 to deliver the Rataj Lecture in the Mathematical Sciences on Fermat's Last Theorem! A reception was held, followed by his amazing talk! It was a great opportunity to meet one of the foremost leaders in mathematics - see pictures from the event and a brief recap here!
