Telephone Replacement begins for LSC & WTC

October 2025

After a successful rollout at the Health Sciences Campus, we are now preparing to transition colleagues at the Lakeshore and Water Tower campuses. Implementation will accelerate in October 2025 and be completed in early 2026.

Key Changes To Know

  • 10-Digit Dialing Required: Starting in October, all on-campus (HSC, LSC and WTC) phone calls made through Teams will require the full 10-digit number to be dialed. When making an off-campus call through Teams, the leading 9 is not required when dialing the phone number. Faculty/Staff using an Avaya phone can still use 5-digit dialing.

  • Department Notifications: Your department will receive a notification 2 weeks before your scheduled transition. Please anticipate brief phone and voicemail outages during the switch.

Introducing Microsoft Teams Phones

February 2025

We're excited to announce Loyola will transition to Microsoft Teams phone. Our colleagues at the Health Sciences Campus were the first to move; those at Lakeshore and Water Tower will be scheduled in the coming months. When making phone calls between the Lakeside Campuses and the Health Sciences Campus using your desktop phone, 10-digit dialing will be needed. The ability to dial using 5-digit dialing to the medical center will cease on Friday, February 21, 2025.

The Health Sciences Campus faculty and staff have new phone numbers, and the Loyola Web Directory is in the process of being updated. For further information, review the transition information SharePoint site, or we encourage you to attend one of our information sessions:

  • February 26th, 2025 at 2pm Webinar session completed - see SharePoint site for more resources
  • March 13th, 2025 at 3pm Webinar session completed - see SharePoint site for more resources
