Wireless Connect

Overview

Loyola's wireless networks provide secure, mobile Internet access for faculty, staff, and students as well as visitors and guests from wireless access points located throughout the Lake Shore, Water Tower, and Health Sciences campuses. Users can connect to Loyola's wireless networks from a laptop, smartphone, or other mobile device using wireless access points conveniently located in campus buildings, residence halls and public spaces. To get connected, follow the instructions below.

Students, Faculty, and Staff

Students Faculty and Staff should use the 'LUC' wireless network.  This network is for those with an active Loyola UVID and password. There are multiple guides on the Wireless FAQ page for connecting with different operating systems.  To access this network connect your device to the LUC network, enter your UVID and password and if your device is not registered you will need to register it. Learn more about the Network Registration (NetReg) process.

Please note, when you change your password for your Loyola ID, you will also need to update the password on all your wireless devices. As the LUC wireless network uses your Loyola ID and password for authentication, you will need to update it to avoid being locked out of your account.

Visitors and Guests

Visitors and Guests should use the 'LUC-Guest' wireless network  This network is for those visiting the Loyola Campus temporarily. Guest accounts are limited to 72 hours, but are available to any visitor to Loyola from any Wireless Access Point on campus.

Gaming Consoles, TVs, Printers, and other Devices

The Gaming Consoles, TVs, Printers, and Other Devices network may be used by Students, Faculty and Staff to register devices that do not support the new security features supported by the 'LUC' wireless network should use the 'LUC-TV-Printer-Games-Misc' wireless network (formerly LUC-devices).  Users will need an active Loyola UVID and password. Devices that fall into this category are most gaming consoles and streaming devices.

Eduroam

Eduroam is an international wi-fi roaming service for users in research, higher education and further education. It provides researchers, teachers and students easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own. Guests can find out if their institution is an eduroam member by either checking with their own IT department or clicking the "Where is Eduroam?" link at www.eduroam.us
