Lockers and Space Reservations
Locks and lockers are provided free of charge to all DFPA students (enrolled in a DFPA class or a major/minor).
- Students of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts (DFPA) may use lockers provided by the department on a first‐come, first‐served basis.
- Locker users are bound by all general University rules and regulations regarding locker usage and violation of any University or Departmental policy may result in suspension of usage privileges.
- Students interested in using DFPA provided lockers must submit a request form.
- Music student lockers vary in size, and assignment will be based on availability and instrument size.
- Any questions regarding locker assignments can be directed at the Bo Office via email boxoffice@luc.edu or by calling 773.508.8400
- The lock assigned is the only locking mechanism approved for use on DFPA lockers. All other locked will be removed and discarded.
- Lockers are accessible during regular building hours but not during holidays or between semesters. All contents must be removed by the end of final exams for the spring semester. Permission for extended usage for graduation requirements may be granted by DFPA faculty or staff members. Items left in lockers after the end of the semester will be donated or discarded.
Space Reservations
Requests from DFPA faculty/staff for DFPA space reservations should be forwarded to April Browning. Additionally, there are Google Calendars for each performance venue that are available upon request to select DFPA faculty members.
Other faculty members should submit reservations for non-DFPA spaces through Campus Reservations and 25Live.
Practice Rooms
- The Mundelein Center for the Fine and Performing Arts is equipped with music studios on the first floor and practice rooms on the tenth floor that are available for free on a first come, first served basis to music majors, theatre majors, musical theatre minors, and students enrolled in music courses
- First floor music studios are only available to declared music majors and those enrolled in applied piano lessons and percussion classes. These rooms are accessible via a designated proximity (prox) card. To request a prox card please complete and submit this request form. Prox cards must be returned at the end of each semester, or a $40.00 replacement fee will be charged to the student.
- Tenth floor practice rooms are available to DFPA students (music majors, theatre majors, musical theatre minors, and students enrolled in music courses), and are accessible via a Loyola ID.
- Non-DFPA students must pay $30 per term to receive access to practice rooms.
- These spaces are open during regular building hours but not during holidays, academic breaks or between semesters. Availability of music studios and practice rooms is not guaranteed. These spaces may be reserved by the Department of Fine and Performing Arts for specific purposes and will be unavailable for general use during those timeframes.
- Music studios and practice rooms are to be used for musical instrument and voice practice only, they are not study spaces. Students should limit their usage of any practice space to 90 minutes. Food is prohibited in all music studios and practice rooms. Violations of these regulations may result in a suspension or loss of access privileges.
