Lauren Drury is an MSW student at Loyola University Chicago on the advanced clinical track. She received her bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology, with a minor in Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago. Lauren’s experience spans both clinical practice and research, including case management, community mental health, and qualitative research focused on youth mentoring and social services. Lauren is also well-informed on chronic illness and its impact on daily life. She is especially interested in gender equality, social determinants of health, mindfulness-based interventions, coping skills and resilience, and community mental health. Lauren believes that building coping skills and mindfulness practices can help people feel more equipped to support themselves outside of the clinical setting. When not at work or school, Lauren enjoys cooking, yoga, thrifting, playing guitar, exploring Chicago, and of course, spending time with her dog.
