Rare Book Collection
Part of the Archives & Special Collections department, the Rare Book Collection includes over 20,000 volumes. This collection reflects the liberal arts foundation of Loyola and is strongest in the areas of Philosophy; Religion; History and Geography; and Language and Literature. Included in the collection are the:
- Jesuitica Collection
- Michalak Collection of 19th century British satire & caricature
- Charles A. Whittingham Chiswick Press collection
- History of Medicine collection
- Faculty Publications collection
- Edward Gorey collection
Students, faculty, staff, other researchers, and the general public are welcome to use the collection. Appointments are required so that we can ensure space and staff availability.
Frontpieces, title pages, indexes, text, and illustrations from volumes in the Jesuitica collection. This collection does not contain fully digitized volumes.
