Connecting to LUC network on Android Devices


If you have previously connected to the LUC network:
Go to your wireless settings on your phone and select LUC.

 


Choose Forget:

To connect to LUC wireless network properly, follow the directions below:
Connect to LUC Wi-Fi. On some phones the configuration opens automatically. On other phones you need to manually change the configuration. The first step is to change EAP Method to PEAP in the drop down menu


Change the Phase 2 authentication to MSCHAPV2:

 

If CA certificate is required - select "Don't Validate"


In Identity enter your Loyola Username and in the Enter password field enter in your password:

By hitting Connect your mobile device will be connected to the LUC wireless network.

PLEASE COMPLETE ALL STEPS

Forget the Network:

  1. Tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the info button next to the wi-fi network you want to forget. It looks like a lower-case I.
  3. Tap Forget This Network. Do this for “LUC” and any other University network you attempted (Luc-guest and Loyola)
  4. Tap Forget when prompted to confirm you want to forget the network.

Connect to “LUC” 

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Wi-Fi
  3. Select LUC wireless network
  4. Enter your Loyola username(uvid) and password
  5. Select “Trust” (the certificate that says accept is no longer valid if you get that, turn your phone off and back on and then restart this process from the beginning)
  6. You are now connected to LUC wireless

Turn off Private Address:

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Wi-Fi
  3. Tap the “I” (information) button next to the “LUC” network
  4. Tap Private Address.
  • If your device joined the network without using a private address, a privacy warning explains why.
  • If you have not connected successfully, you need to TURN OFF private browsing for “LUC” only. You may leave it on for all other networks you use.

Apple users, if you are having difficulty connecting or staying connected to the "LUC" network, make sure you do not have "Randomized Mac Address" turned on.  These need to be off for the "LUC" network.
