We are closing in on the final month of the spring semester!!! We have a big announcement: In memory of retired Loyola Physics professor, Albert Claus, the Loyola Physics now has a Loyola Physics Department Scholarship available for one student each year. The award for AY 2023-24 is $1500 and will go toward tuition. Regarding eligibility, there is no GPA requirement, but applicants must have completed at least two Physics courses from the department, with at least one at the 200-level or higher, with a grade of B- or higher. As part of the application, there are two required essays:

1) Discuss your contributions (made or planned) toward enriching Physics or its community, at Loyola or beyond (150-250 words) and

2) Tell us something about yourself. You might discuss your motivation for pursuing your degree, your biggest challenge overcome to date, what impact this award will have on your plans, etc. ( 150-250 words).

All eligible physics majors are encouraged to apply for the scholarship through the Loyola Scholarship Connection. There is no deadline for applying, but applications will be reviewed in June.

There are two events this week in the Department:
