Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) Databases  

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) creates and maintains family of administrative longitudinal databases which contain encounter-level information on inpatient stays, emergency department visits, and ambulatory surgery in U.S. hospitals.  AHRQ creates these resources through a Federal-State-Industry partnership. 
 
NOTE: Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Surgery (SSOM) has purchased a limited number of HCUP databases for targeted research projects. Use of these resources must be coordinated with department and are subject to applicable data use agreements.  If you need to purchase these are other HCUP datasets, please contact the Informatics and Clinical Research team for assistance.

Resource available to the following users:

HCUP resources are available to Loyola University Chicago faculty subject to restrictions defined applicable data use agreements (DUA).
