Commencement season is a time to reflect on goals achieved, friends made, and lessons learned. Watch four members of the Class of 2022 reflect on their Quinlan experiences and offer some words of wisdom and inspiration to their fellow graduates.

Mackenzie Cron (BBA '22)

Program: BBA in Marketing and a BA in Theology
Position: Internal Consultant at DWS, an asset management company
Favorite Memory: “On the first day of freshman year, I did not even buy a notebook. I frantically googled where I could buy one and thankfully discovered there was a Walgreens close. As I was checking out, the cashier asked how my day was going. I responded, “I have my first day of college today!” She shouted to her coworkers, “Did y’all hear that? This girl has her first day of college today!” All the cashiers chanted and cheered and wished me the best. This was one of the first moments I recognized how lucky we all have been to attend college. And not just any college, but a Jesuit institution that promotes social justice and cura personalis, care for the whole person. A university whose education embodies magis, or more. Sitting in the heart of Chicago, the Quinlan School of Business is a network with a beating heart, eager to fuel more of its veins to bring the Jesuit ideals to the world.”

Carlos Lopez (MBA '22)

Program: MBA
Future Plans: As I wrap up my MBA journey at Loyola, I’m looking forward to making a truly positive impact in the world and in my community.
Favorite Memory: “A fond memory was when it transitioned from fully online to a hybrid model. The professors and my fellow classmates were so accommodating, and the transition was seamless. It was as if we all knew each other well already. Getting to see the Schreiber Center, which is a beautiful space in the heart of Chicago, made it all worth it.”

Jonathan McGee (MBA '22)

Program: Baumhart Scholars MBA
Position: Director, Office of Business and Workforce Diversity, Illinois Department of Transportation
Favorite Memory: “During my first quarter as a Baumhart Scholar, at one of the first leadership courses we took, we raised the question of how to live an extraordinary life that offers us the economic stability that we need, while simultaneously making a difference? Is this even realistic? Professor Nicole Johnson-Scales shared that we cannot allow ourselves to lead in fear. It was then that I knew Loyola's values were authentic.”

Alisha Sayani (BBA '22)

Program: BBA in Management and Human Resource Management
Position: HR Coordinator, Kraft Heinz
Favorite Memory: “My favorite Quinlan memory is attending the Quinlan Ramble to Atlanta this past spring break! I had a great time visiting different companies like Invesco, Deloitte, and Coca-Cola HQ, while also exploring the city of Atlanta. It was a great way to bond with other Quinlan students as well. I will cherish all of the connections I’ve made with peers, professors, and alumni throughout the past four years. My time here at Loyola has been invaluable, and I am forever grateful for all the opportunities granted to me as a Quinlan student.”
