Spring 2019 Faculty Reading Group: The Ninth Hour by Alice McDermott

Hailed as one of the best novels of 2017, The Ninth Hour traces the story of an Irish immigrant family in 1940s/50s Catholic Brooklyn. Alice McDermott was a featured speaker at the 2019 Catholic Imagination Conference hosted by CCIH.

These reading groups are open to all LUC faculty and graduate students. 

Group A: Facilitated by Michael P. Murphy

Meeting 1: Monday, March 11th, 1:00-2:30 p.m.

Meeting 2: Monday, March 25th, 1:00-2:00 p.m.

 

Group B: Facilitated by Elisabeth Bayley

Meeting 1: Tuesday, March 12th, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Meeting 2: Tuesday, March 26th 10:00-11:30 a.m.

 

All meetings took place in Cuneo Hall, room 425.

Books were provided for participants by the Hank Center. Registration is required in advance.
