Mission Statement

The Wellness Advocates are a team of volunteer, peer health educators dedicated to helping students achieve optimal health and well-being. Wellness Advocates raise awareness of current college health issues and promote healthy lifestyle choices among all students through creative and interactive education programs, advocacy, and leadership. Their efforts enhance a healthy campus culture and encourage individual responsibility for personal and community wellness.

The Wellness Advocates currently present on issues related to alcohol, sleep, stress management, nutrition, and sexual health. One of our most popular topics is stress management and sleep. You may be familiar with some of the Wellness Advocates programs, like their Sleep Workshop, or maybe you saw them in your residence hall presenting on a specific health topic. The Wellness Advocates present to different student groups upon request, and also put on their own tabling events and programs during the year. Let us know if you have an idea for a program you'd like to see on campus!

Program Requests/Forms

Are you looking to put on a health related program?  The Wellness Advocates are a great addition to your programming needs!  We can present to your group (most popular option), help design a program, or help facilitate your discussions. If you would like to request our assistance, please fill out and return the Wellness Advocates Program Request Form 2022-23. In Spring 2023, the Wellness Advocates will accept requests for virtual and in-person presentations. Zoom can serve as a backup option as well if your group cannot secure a room for the presentation, or if turns out to be  safer to hold the event online.

After you have downloaded and completed the form, email the form to wellnessadvocates@luc.edu and you will here back regarding your request shortly.

We do ask that requests be sent at least 14 days prior to your intended program date (if possible) in order to plan accordingly.

Wellness Advocate Recruitment

We recruit for new members every spring, but we encourage interested folks to check out our events during the school year before then. Follow us at @lucwellnessadvocates to see any upcoming events. If you would like to be a Wellness Advocate for the 2023-24 school year, please apply by March 13th! Applicants must fill out a short application, Wellness Advocates Application 2023-24 and submit a short letter of recommendation (can be from a mentor, professor, employer, etc.) There is also an option to start early and participate in the group for the last month of the spring semester instead of waiting to start until August, please indicate on your application if you would like to do that.
