2026 Feast Day of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Retirees,
Human Resources is pleased to invite you to Loyola’s 2026 Feast Day of St. Ignatius Celebration on Friday, July 31, at the Lake Shore Campus. This special day recognizes the dedication, service, and contributions of our Loyola community and offers an opportunity to come together in reflection, fellowship, and celebration.
The celebration will begin with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Madonna della Strada Chapel, followed by our annual picnic on the West Quad and in the Damen Student Center.
The picnic will feature food and refreshments, games, and opportunities to connect with colleagues across the University. Guests can also support the Loyola Employee Emergency Fund during the event. In partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Facilities, Zero Waste Stations will be available to support Loyola’s sustainability efforts through recycling and composting. Faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their campus ID card to help ensure a welcoming lunch experience for all attendees.
Complimentary shuttle service from the Health Sciences and Water Tower campuses will be available, along with volunteer opportunities as space allows. Please register online by June 22 for the picnic, including whether you are interested in volunteering and/or need transportation services.
We hope you will join us for Mass and the picnic as we celebrate together as a community.
Sincerely,
Janice Parks
Chief Human Resources Officer
Volunteering
In preparation for the upcoming Feast Day of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic, there is an opportunity that will allow you to donate some of your time while still celebrating the festivities with fellow Loyolans. Faculty, Staff, and Retirees are encouraged to sign-up to assist with volunteer efforts at the Picnic such as providing support during the Bingo games, assisting with Shuttle Service and, at the end of the event, help with gathering materials so Facilities can return the items to Human Resources.
Registration
Human Resources is looking for assistance with staffing coverage for a variety of roles on July 31, 2026. If you would like to sign-up to volunteer, please register online.
- Note: If you signed-up to volunteer when RSVPing for the Feast Day of St. Ignatius Mass and Picnic, you do not need to sign-up again.
Games and Digital Prizes
