Retirement Plan Updates: New Roth Contributions Option & Required Roth Catch Up Contributions for 2026

As shared this past fall, the Loyola University Chicago Retirement Plan now offers an additional way to save for retirement: Roth contributions. You can now log in to your Transamerica account at any time to elect Roth contributions, which allow you to save after tax dollars today and potentially enjoy tax free withdrawals in retirement. Additionally, beginning 2026, Federal law under the SECURE Act 2.0 requires that certain employees make their catch up contributions as Roth (after tax) contributions.

Save the Date: Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola Mass and Picnic on July 31

Please save the date for Loyola’s St. Ignatius Feast Day Celebration on Friday, July 31. Human Resources invites Faculty, Staff, and Retirees to join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of St. Ignatius of Loyola with a special Mass at 10:30 AM in Madonna della Strada Chapel, followed by our annual community picnic at the Lake Shore Campus on the West Quad and in the Damen Student Center. The picnic will feature food, beverages, games, prizes, and opportunities to connect with colleagues across the Loyola community. Additional events and RSVP details will be shared soon. We hope you will join us for Mass, the picnic, or both as we come together in celebration and community.
