2018 Bike to Work Challenge

Annually, Loyola University Chicago participates in the Active Transportation Alliance's Bike to Work challenge in June. Last year, Loyola won in the education category for employers between 2,500 and 4,999 staff! The University ranked 19th overall out of 306 teams - 26 Participants earned 4,284 points as they logged 1,429 miles.
 
In 2018, the event will take place June 15 - 29, and the event is eligible for the Wellness Program's quarterly rewards benefit! We hope to earn more points and log more miles in 2018. As the weather warms up, we encourage you to consider participating in the program.
 
Participants can visit the Active Transportation Alliance bike commuter challenge webpage to join. Visit the Bike to Work link below and click "sign up". Once you have created your personal account you will be able to 'join a team" , then search and select Loyola University.

Need a Bike?
If you do not have a bike, we encourage you to consider purchasing a DIVVY membership in order to rent a bike to navigate throughout the city and beyond. The City of Chicago has placed a number of DIVVY bikes throughout the city of Chicago. Rates are affordable for single rides, daily passes, and/or an annual membership!

LUC faculty and staff can contact Human Resources in order to receive a discount on Divvy membership pricing.
  • NOTE: Biking can help you earn a quarterly reward in your paycheck! Don't forget to add your track your exercise minutes on HMI website!
