The National Black Law Students Association is one of the nation’s largest student-run organizations of its kind, representing thousands of minority law students from more than 200 chapters and affiliates throughout six countries.  The Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Team is open to students who are dues paying members of BLSA. Each year the students chosen for this team attend a mock trial training course and hone their trial skills under the guidance of their dedicated coaches in preparation for BLSA's Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition. Loyola's team competes each year in the spring Midwest BLSA Competition for regional championship where the top three teams advance to the national BLSA competition. In 2018 Loyola won their regional championship and advanced to the national competition for the fourth time in five years.

The Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Team aims to develop your skills as legal advocates.  Through hands-on training and simulations and conducting in depth analysis of case problems, you will learn to develop a case from its inception to conclusion--the trial. The trial competition takes place in early spring.  Therefore, the bulk of our groundwork/ preparation will take place in the fall.
