Recording Instructions

This section houses instructions and recommendations for recording and capturing audio into popular audio software applications such as Ableton Live, Adobe Audition, Audacity, and Apple Garageband.

Setup Instructions

1. Press the monitor button to switch between MONITOR and HEADPHONE.

2. Make sure the HEADPHONE setting it illuminated on the interface display.

3. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the volume and counterclockwise to decrease the volume.

Note - Do not press the PREAMP button.

Vocal Booth - Volume

1. Navigate to the desktop toolbar and select the applications folder. Vocal Booth - Applications Folder
2. Scroll down through the listed applications and select the Universal Audio folder. Vocal Booth - Universal Audio Folder
3. From the folder, select the Console icon to open the software. Vocal Booth - UA Console Application 
4. Feel free to close the window after the software loads. The software will operate in the background even if the window is closed. Vocal Booth - Close UA Console

Apple GarageBand
GarageBand is a fully-equipped audio creation studio for Mac, featuring a complete sound library of effects and software instruments. Vocal Booth - Audacity

Audacity is an open-source multitrack audio recording and editing software. This software is ideal for those who wish to record fast and do not need the bells and whistles that come included in more robust software.  Coming soon

Adobe Audition
Create, mix, and design sound with Adobe's professional audio workstation. This software features robust audio editing tools and is suited for those looking to take their recordings to the next level. Coming soon

Vocal Booth - Ableton Live

Ableton Live
Ableton Live is a powerful and flexible software music sequencer and digital audio workstation. In contrast to many other software sequencers, Ableton Live is designed to be an instrument for live performances as well as a tool for composing, recording, arranging, mixing, and mastering. It is also used by DJs, as it offers a suite of controls for beatmatching, crossfading, and other different effects used by turntablists. This software is recommended for those who wish to use their recorded audio for sound design and sampling purposes. Coming soon
