HyFlex Classrooms
In a HyFlex (hybrid flexible) course, the instructor facilitates class activities for both on-campus and online students simultaneously. In addition to the standard classroom technology, classrooms for HyFlex courses are equipped with dual monitors at the instructor workstation, a camera facing the front of the room, microphones to capture the instructor and students, and speakers to hear online students.
Information Sessions
Instructional Technology & Research Support (ITRS) and the Office of Online Learning (OOL) hosted a series of live webinars on HyFlex classrooms. These sessions were designed for faculty teaching a HyFlex course in Spring 2021. Participants will be introduced to HyFlex classroom technologies, learn effective tips for using Zoom, and discover strategies for engaging in-person and digital students. 1:1 On-Campus Training
ITRS is offering individual training on HyFlex classroom technologies to faculty teaching in Summer 2021. Sessions will start in early May and take place on-campus in your assigned classroom. A sign-up sheet will be emailed to faculty in late May. If you are teaching a HyFlex course in Summer 2021 and have not received this communication, please contact the ITS Service Desk at ITSServiceDesk@luc.edu.
